I’m sure now; you are saturated with information on why it is better to do online transactions. It keeps you safe from the virus; it’s less time consuming; it’s a sure way to avoid traffic congestion and road rage; the list of benefits of performing online transactions is endless.
When it comes to cake shopping, online cake delivery in Calicut and other cities in India will offer so many more options compared to shopping in person. Besides, online shopping helps you to ‘visit’, a lot of cake shops in a very short time span and compare prices and designs. But like anything done online these days, especially that which involves money, you need to be careful and take precautions.
Make sure the website is legit.
When looking for online cake stores, be careful not to fall victim to scammers. Scrutinise the website. Does it look legit? A simple way of doing that is checking if there is a padlock on the top left corner of the webpage. But this alone is not enough. Find out if the company has any social media pages. Ask around, does anyone know about it? Has anyone actually bought from it? Make sure it is absolutely legit before you start the process of buying. Also, watch out for websites that ask you to divulge confidential information like the pin code of your bank card or passwords to certain accounts. Legit online paying platforms never ask you for such.
Keep your options closer to home.
There are many online cake delivery portals on the internet, and it is most convenient if you chose the one in your city, or closest to you. Provided it has what you want, of course. Whatever portal you choose, make sure that the company actually makes deliveries to your town or city before you perform the transaction. If you are purchasing the cake for someone else, verify where the person will be on the date you want the cake to be delivered so that you can double-check with the cake company whether they can deliver to that town.
Even if the company has it written on its website that it does deliveries to a certain city, call them and double-check. Their policies may have changed, and they just forgot to update information on their website. Also, it’s always better to order from a branch in your town in case there are any problems.
Pay Attention to reviews and the bestselling cakes section.
When you have narrowed down your choices to a few online cake delivery portals, it’s time to check the reviews. It is very important to know what other consumers are saying about the product you want to buy and the supplier you want to buy from. If for instance, a lot of customers are complaining about lack of adherence to time, you may not want to do business with that company. Online website reviews can often be faked, so make sure the ones you made your decision based on are legit. Another alternative is to go to the company’s social media pages and read the comments being posted consumers there. They will tell you a lot about the service of that company.
Checking the best-selling cakes section helps you decide on a flavour or design to pick. Online cake shops often have a lot of options. Too many options actually; and sometimes it can take you a lot of time trying to decide which flavour to settle on. Checking statistics of which cake is most sought after will help you narrow down your choices to cakes you should try and those you should stay away from.
